Welcome
Welcome to Horsley and Mapperley Church of England Primary Schools Federation
Welcome to our Federation website. This website is intended to give you information about the education provided by both schools, as well as directing you to the separate pages websites for both our schools, which will keep parents and pupils up to date with the latest news, diary dates and events. We hope you will find it useful and that it will give you a flavour of our schools.
About Us
I am delighted and privileged to be Executive Headteacher of the Federation. In both our schools we have enthusiastic pupils, talented staff, committed governors and supportive parents. We recognise that time in school is such an important time for both children and their families and we always aim to ensure that every child feels happy, safe, secure and confident in their school life and is well equipped for the next stage of their education.
We are two small schools with experienced teams who are passionate about making learning fun and exciting.
Horsley C of E Primary School and Mapperley C of E Primary School joined together as a federation in April 2020. The two schools work closely together but still keep their own identity.
Our schools cater for children from ages 4 to 11. Horsley Church of England Primary School has an admission limit of 14 children, with school numbers being between 90 and 100.
Mapperley Church of England Primary School has an admission limit of 10 children, with school numbers being between 60 and 70.
Both schools are characteristically Victorian buildings that have seen many changes over the years, but they remain village schools at the heart of the communities, where small classes sizes mean that every child is known as an individual.
I hope that you will be excited by what our schools have to offer. I hope too that you will share our vision for the Federation over the years to come.
Whilst our websites take shape and grow, I would warmly welcome you to visit either school to meet the team, see our learning environments in action and find out more about our exciting Federation.
Thank you for visiting.
Richard J Cripps
